Patricia Garin

Patricia Garin is co-director of Northeastern University School of Law’s Prisoners’ Rights Clinic and of counsel at Shapiro & Teitelbaum. She is a national leader in complex criminal defense and civil rights litigation, with particular expertise in parole and sentencing issues and in representing individuals with mental disabilities. Professor Garin serves as presidentof the board of Prisoners’ Legal Services. She was a member of the Boston Bar Association Task Force on Parole and Community Integration and the legislatively created Special Commission on Criminal Justice. She has been honored by the Committee for Public Counsel Services, the Massachusetts chapter of the National Lawyers Guild and the Massachusetts Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers for her work. She is a member of the Harvard Roundtable on Racial Disparities in the Massachusetts Criminal System convened in 2021. Ms. Garin is a 1984 graduate of Northeastern University School of Law.
