Eugene Ivey
Eugene Ivey is a juvenile lifer who spent 27 years in prison, including 13 consecutive years in solitary confinement. Eugene is a staunch advocate for social and criminal justice reform. He is a proponent for the abolishment of solitary confinement, lifetime supervision, and life without parole. Since his release in August of 2021, Eugene has been dedicated to re-entry and restorative justice work. He has participated in a number of restorative justice circles, and has offered his perspective as a speaker and panelist with lived experience at several events. He currently serves as a Fellow and mentor for the Tufts Education Re-entry Network (MyTERN).
